How To De-Stress

For the last few weeks I have felt the pressure of A- Level exams build up and I've continued to bottle all my stress and worries inside of me, but I've learnt one thing stress needs to come out in order for you to feel a lot better about the situation, so I'm currently writing this the night before my A-Level Business Exam.. yep you heard me right. I have an exam tomorrow and instead of revising I'm writing this post and you know what I don't regret it. Everyone has their own ways to distract themselves and allow their mind to wonder somewhere else, this is mine.

Head Space
Over the last few months I have been using this app called "Head Space" it's absolutely incredible and I don't know where I would be without it, even if you aren't stressed its important to give your brain some time to relax and disconnect from the world. This app allows you to have a few moments of relaxation so that your brain can recharge.

Long Walks
This is one of my favourite things to do when I'm feeling stressed especially if the weather is nice, but going for a long walk on your own is one of the most therapeutic things in my opinion as it allows you to be alone with your thoughts and completely take in your surroundings which gives your mind the perfect opportunity to focus on something other than exams for once.

Do something you enjoy
When it comes to exam season we all get so sucked into revision that we often forget to step back and have some "me" time even if it's taking half an hour to watch your favourite TV show, read a book, catch up on social media, whatever it is its important that you continue to do it. Personally, I always love sitting down in my bedroom with some of my favourite chocolate and writing various blog posts even if I don't end up posting them just allowing everything to flow out of my brain in a way that brings me such joy and happiness is the perfect way of de-stressing.

Sleep
When your feeling stressed it is important that you get the right amount of sleep often people who become stressed end up to stressed to sleep, crazy I know. I've been in that situation before its super difficult and really hard to bring yourself out of the habit but its important that you do, don't forget your brain needs a little rest also. So make sure you put things in perspective is it really worth missing five nights of sleep just for one exam that you may possibly not need in ten years time?

Honestly nothing is EVER worth being so stressed about that it puts your mental health in danger, I believe that it is so simple to take a step back and de-stress so give it a go and remember one exam isn't going to determine your future, you are.
